An imposing Louis XV ebonised writing table with finely chased gilt bronze mounts. The stepped moulded rectangular top inset with the original gilt-tooled leather above three frieze drawers with elaborate ormolu handles and escutcheons, the reverse conformingly organized with three simulated drawers, allowing this bureau plat ‘de milieu’ to be freestanding, the cabriole legs with sabot feet headed by female masks.
