An unusual and intriguing Swedish Empire giltwood cheval mirror in the Egyptian taste. The design and rich ornamentation of this mirror is reflecting the fascination with Egyptian antiquity brought about by the Napoleonic campaigns of the late 18th century.

The present mirror was on loan to the exhibiton ‚Mit Napoleon in Ägypten’ in the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum, 2009, Cologne and published in the catalogue.
