A very rare and large Louis XVI terrestrial globe by the royal French globemaker Jean Baptiste Fortin (1740-1817). He had a shop in Paris, in the Rue de la Harpe and made globes of various sizes and published geographical works. This globe is the largest one he ever produced with a diameter of 32 cm published in 1780. An attractive globe in a nice, authentic condition.
