The large rectangular plate surmounted by a scrolled pediment enriched with wines leaves and a central medallion enclosing a classical lyre. The sides of the mirror are fashioned as fluted pilasters with gilt capitals. The whole above a base enriched with further neo-classical ornaments centred by a roundel with the head of Apollo.

This pier mirror is of outstanding quality and contains its original mirror plate. It orginates from the South-West of Germany and was probably made in Stuttgart around 1800 for one of the many palaces in the Kingdom of Württemberg.
